- Go see at least three banks and check out what they can
do for you.
- Factor in all relevant costs, upfront and ongoing. These
include but are not limited to and are subject to change
and variance depending on the lending institution and property
type, size etc; but as a rough guide:
- Life Insurance (need a personalized quote)
- Legal Fees (0.25 to 1.5%)
- Bank Arrangement Fee (approx 1%)
- Stamp Duty (6% +, depending on purchase price)
- Surveyors ($500 +, depending on property)
- Government Fees (1%)
- The deposit, ugh!!
And don’t forget…
- Contents Insurance
- Strata (if applicable)
- Buildings Insurance
- Repairs (if applicable)
- Furnishing / furniture
- Change your will
Oh and …..
- Notarised copy of passport
- Proof of income
- Proof of source of funds
- Bank and personal references
- Police report (if applicable)
- Proof of residence
- Copies of utility bills in your name
- Copies of bank statements
- Letter from your employer
